ABOUT THE BDB... BLOGGING

To Blog

Some cruisers maintain richly detailed journals each day and create something interesting to share with the rest of us.  A few have even transformed their accounts into published books, such as "Honey, Let's Get a Boat" by Ron & Eva Stob.  It's a fun read.

Then there's us; without motivation or desire to expound, wax poetical, or rant.  We'll fill in our own cruise log with what's necessary: date, time, to, from... and call it good.  The rest of the blank lines reserved for notes is usually left sparse or blank. Our scrawl summing up an anchorage or port is elementary.

  • good holding
  • blew like stink
  • brrrr
  • hot humid
  • buckets of rain
  • went ashore
  • # boats here
  • "Windsong" Jack, Jill [boat/crew we met]
Choose two or three and we're good to go.
It's pathetic, really.  We're okay with that.

KID BLOGS

Instill blogging habits while the kids are still young and eager. They don't have to end up like us. Provide them with a good variety of colored markers and a stack of pages that are begging for their words.
